Laura Robinson serves as the Executive Director of SEIU Local 620, following nearly five years as a dedicated Field Representative. Prior to joining the Local's team, Laura worked as a Property Tax Appraiser with the County of Santa Barbara, where she was elected by her peers to both the Local 620 Executive and Chapter boards, as well as to the Santa Barbara County Employee Retirement System (SBCERS). A lifelong resident of California's central coast, Laura earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Long Beach. She is committed to a long career serving her community, remaining close to her family and her beloved dog, Harper.
Nicole Bryant joined the Local 620 team as a Field Representative in 2021, and represents most of our cities and municipalities in San Luis Obispo County and Northern Santa Barbara County. She has 15 plus years of experience advocating for individuals in various workplace, educational, and community settings. Nicole graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Education in Applied Psychology. Passionate about serving our members and the community, she enjoys life on the Central Coast with her husband, son, and Welsh Corgi.
Leo Decasaus is a Field Representative for SEIU Local 620. He grew up in Santa Maria, California and graduated from Santa Maria High school in 2018. He pursued his college education at Allan Hancock College for an associate's degree in political science and transferred to Cal State LA for a bachelor's degree in pre-legal studies in 2022. Leo spent years working as part-time field staff for labor organizations such as the United Domestic Workers of America and the Central Coast Labor Council, AFL-CIO before earning full time employment as a Mobilization Coordinator with the Central Coast Labor Council, AFL-CIO. Leo lives with family in Santa Maria, CA including his dog Nena and cat Tipsy.
Ms. Helman is the Administrative Assistant for Local 620. She is the clerical support for the office as well as being assigned the maintenance of our database and current records. She is also responsible for answering the phones and referring calls and questions to other staff members.
Ronna Hooper is an Executive Assistant for SEIU Local 620. She grew up in the Midwest and moved to San Jose, CA right after high school. Ronna worked in the Administrative Field in Silicon Valley for 13 years. She moved to Santa Maria and started working for SEIU Local 620, and has now worked here for 17 years. When she is not at work she can be found hanging with her white boxer dog, Chase Elliot.
Rob Adam Perry is a Field Representative for SEIU Local 620, representing 11 various worksites. Rob just completed his 3rd year with SEIU Local 620. He spent thirty-eight years with COSB, Tehama and Shasta County. Rob has earned a Bachelors Arts Degree in Public Administration at the University of San Francisco and an Associate Arts Degree in Business from Butte Community College. He resides in Lompoc with his wife, two dogs Titan and Cacahuete and Jacko the cat. Prior volunteer positions: SBCERS Elected Board Member, COSB Deferred Compensation Board Member with 721 and 620, COSB Health Care Oversight Committee Member, SEIU 721 Worksite Steward and Santa Maria Elks Volunteer with the Bingo Crew
Susan Thomas-Bueno is Field Support and Steward Coordinator for SEIU Local 620. Susan has worked for Local 620 for 14 years. Her favorite thing about working with public employees is the conversations. Susan likes to discuss benefits and teaching members about workers' rights. She leads workers in actions that result in fair and equitable contracts. Susan couldn’t do this job without the support of her family, co-workers and two dogs Poppy and Gracie and her hefty cat Buddy. Susan looks forward to many more years working with SEIU Local 620.
